News is circling around the Web today regarding an event that Apple is holding next Wednesday. It has been confirmed that there is an invitation-only event at 10am on January 27 that will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

Not much more is known, as Apple’s invitation does not have much more information other than the date, time, location, map, and “Come see our latest creation.” However, with the speculation about an Apple tablet for the past few months, this seems like the most likely scenario. Almost the entire Mac lineup was refreshed in October, with the rest being refreshed in the summer. The iPods got a bit of a makeover in September, while the iPhone was updated in June. Therefore, unless the Apple TV gets a big update, we’re thinking (like the rest of the media) that there’s something completely new on the horizon.
